I don't think there are many who will argue a pure socialist economy will work. Like you say the incentives aren't there to work hard. But what many people don't realize is just about every country has mixed economies with elements of socialism and free markets. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. National Defense, fire/police protection, education, food and drug administration, and infrastructure, for example, are all things that a free market would probably not provide adequate funding from the private sector for. There are many that argue that it is an all or nothing debate while they should be looking at whether or not specific programs need gov't funding.

That said, healthcare is a tricky issue; while we all hope that everyone is able to be taken care of if they need it, programs like medicare and medicaid have caused medical costs to become extremely high and is bankrupting us. As the program exists now it is similiar to a ponzi scheme where some unlucky generation will be forced to pay for it for 40+ years and when they retire to try and get their benefits, it wont be there.

you are kind of contradicting yourself. blaming the current party in office for not providing any jobs, yet you applaud romney for making money by displacing jobs to foreign markets.

where is your proof he can do a good job? im sure the opposition has proof he will do a poor job at that

how many companies have factories and/or assemble in mexico? how many of your multi-billion corporations and conglomerates have sweat shops, i mean factories in Asia? instead of paying fair and competitive wages in the domestic market, they outsource to maximize profit so they can pay themselves their millions in bonuses.
