August Referral Contest - Win Wiis!
A week left guys, Centong is kicking ass
I just saw your post>.< and it's not true
Sweet

Why are 2 of my refferals: Nemy and DEXTER15 listed as DUPE? what is wrong with them? Nemy just pmed me he made his stats over 100, because i asked him when he is going to hit 50 so i can get 10 favors. Dunno what is wrong. Dexter isnt so strong but he says he is also above 50. is it a bug or what?
It's no bug. If they are marked as a dupe it's because our system detected them as such. You are allowed to refer UNIQUE individuals only.
yes of course. Dzigy and Dexter are brothers and play from same house but on different computers, however i understand why could they maybe not be unique. but i rly still dont know why Nemy isnt unique, that is strange. Nvm, i have one or two more guys here trying to reach the limit so i hope i will keep my second place in this competition. too bad i started it after august 20th so i cant give more resistance to centong
Resistance seems to be futile
I'm having the issue. Would it not seem logical that we get credit for one of the duplicate addresses, so long as the IP doesn't come from OUR IP address? As it stands, I cant refer anybody I know in Iraq with me because the outside world sees us all as the same IP. My specific example that I ran into is that my sister and her significant other live in the same house and both joined under my referrals. I mean, I still had to shoot out two requests to get both of them to join as you can clearly look at their join dates and see they weren't near the same time.
Your post seems to be a bit all over.. you mention it not coming from your IP, but if you referred anyone in Iraq WITH you they would be on the same IP no? Also, I think you would be in the same range but not the same IP.
As for the sister and her significant other... one account per person is the rule. We bend it to allow people of the same household, but honestly how can that be enforced? People can make duplicate accounts and claim it's their brother, sister, mother and dog. So how is that solved? Mark accounts that appear to be duplicates (in this case, coming from the same IP or computer).
Sure, it may actually be 2 individual people, but how do we know that? Can you not see how that can be abused?
In other news. Someone's Wii arrived via the Postman this morning.
I'm sorry, I will clarify. Its 3:30 am here in Iraq, so I appologise if I'm a little incoherent.
I have two referrals from back in the United States who are a couple livinging in the same household. These referrals are clearly not me, but they DO live in the same house. But, as you said... There is no way to KNOW exactly how many people are using the same IP address. The only safe assumption is that there is at least one person there, so I feel you should get credit for perhaps the first referral, but not the subsequent ones.
The second scenario is with people who wish to play here on COL Ubaydi, Iraq. There are over 500 bodies on this base, and all of our internet is funneled through spawareurope.net. I'm not sure how they run things, but I know that I cannot download anything from sites like rapidshare because my IP is perpetually in use. As for me getting referrals for 20 of my buddies, forget about it. I don't expect those sorts of exceptions.
