Braking a trade agreement.
ThyWhis...This is a particular situation and will probably be a controversial topic. I
also understand that my popularity might go down quite a bit with the ladies…
but I don't mind... I like men
j/k.
So here's how it goes: I ninja-ed 2 toilets at $1 each at the market. When
the owner or “trader” mailed me to have them back, I refused. What ninja takes ninja
keeps, right? From what I can understand from him further mailing me, he tried
to trade them for a bike.
OK, I know what I did might not have been ethically correct, I can see that,
and that’s why I gave the guy a chance when he mailed me a trade offer.
At first I “Narr-ed” (no) the guy, pirate style, but then, several hours
later, rethought about it and realized I didn’t need 7 toilets, and that bike
he offered as a trade would of made a nice replacement for my 4 chairs.
So we mutually agreed to trade, the now my, 2 toilets for his bike. His bike
was already at the market at 200k so the agreement was that I would put the 2
toilets at 100k ea. He would then buy the toilets, and I, the bike. Now guess
what happened? I got owned by a kid, outwitted by someone who can’t even type a
sentence without fail, AKA scammed. He didn’t want to buy first, saying he didn’t
trust me. Understandable, who would trust a ninja? I wouldn’t... so I agreed to
buy first. I then realized he could buy himself 3 toilets with that 200k, but 2
seconds too late, the bike was bought (by me). I mailed him, but then his English
went all Chinese style and I couldn’t make anymore sense out of him. Basically
though, he called that fair. He never bought the toilets and he doesn’t intend
to. He just bought himself 400k worth of energy drinks and I’m starting to wonder
if this entire situation was actually premeditated.
Those of you who are still reading this might think that I got what I
deserved… I can understand that, but look at this at a different angle. I haven’t
done anything “wrong”, I was simply opportunistic. I could have been a 100%
asshole and just keep those toilets without even feeling bad for him. Plus, I
made it very clear to him that I wasn’t interested in the bike unless he bought
the 2 toilets.
Bottom line, I believe that I was in my rights and didn’t owe him a thing. I
also believe that this individual scammed me by breaking his own trade
agreement. I have been deceived and I believe that he deserves a temp.ban. (synonym
of believe?)
I want your opinions on this. Who’s right and who’s wrong? What do you
think?
Whatever is sold on the market for the price that the person listed it for is the property of the purchaser.
Example:
Q: Cynner lists a bookcase for $1,000 instead of $100,000. Whiskyman purchase for $1,000.
A. Cynner is a dumb ass and the property is Whisyman's with no recourse. On the market it is through the game system and 100% secure.
Example 2:
Q. Cynner tell Whiskyman that he will sell him 4 bookcases for 200k each. Through messaging this is all arranged and one party doesn't go through with the "circumvent around the system" using the market at a pre-determined price and extra agreement through messaging. Cynner will buy this, if Whiskyman buys that.
A. These are agreements through messaging and it pays to know who you are dealing with. I don't think the game has the time effort or energy to monitor this. They can't police every pissed off prisoner that gets ripped off.
Whisky I think you got the better of the deal (market), and he pulled a fast one. Since it was outside the true market on the marketplace which can be policed. Any agreements outside of that have to be at buyer at your own risk. I have talked to you many times and know you are upstanding. A deal on the market is a deal on the market, bottomline the rest is subject to being scammed. You are really only out the $1 toliets, but I would have stopped there and relisted them for $100k each. He wants them back him buy them back through the market. Thats the risk you take trading, you may get ninja'ed on your $1 listing.
I should have added. You bought the two toliets on the market for $1. Deal done. You bought a bike on the market for $200k. Deal done. Back to example 1 in both cases. A deal on the market for the price listed is final.
Good luck and I hope this works out for you both.
Sell the bike for 200k and sell the toilets to me for 65k each

ThyWhis...Compton, you speak with 100% logic and I appreciate your reply. If
someone else would have started this topic my answer to him would
probably be very similar to yours.
What to remember: "A deal on the market for the price listed is final."
Diablo 2 have tought me to never trust anyone in trades. Naivety and business don't mix well lol.
Amen. Sometimes the good nature in all of us, gets the best of us. I would have done what you did, be the good guy and get burned. I would stew and then about 24-48 hrs later I would blame myself for being a dumb ass. Experience in other games. After all the point is to be in prision and rob people. Not exactly the most ethical band of thugs so why take the chance before gangs come out, where there you can meet some trustworth people.
i agree diablo 2 is a great way of learning the various ways of trade scamming. with that experience alone you should have expected karma to get you in the end. you werent wrong for what you did, but neither was he.
Hooray for cutthroat gaming! This is a prison themed website, so I'm obligated to get some laughs from your situation.
If it was a crazy convoluted scheme to screw you out of some dough, Whisky, then I commend the guy whoput it together. The risk was great on his part, and he pulled it off like a pro.
If this was just some dude profiting from opportunity, and was actually trying to trade with someone else as he said, then it's less cool, and I'm sorry for your loss. And he's stupid for trying to trade in such a manner. $1 on the open market? Bah.
well..
in prison you can scam or even kill a man right?
Wait, whats so bad about this, I would of spent 202k and get a bike and 2 toilets
