CHEMISTRY HELP NUKKAS home work time
1.
Succinic acid has the formula (CH2)n(COOH)2 and
reacts with dilute sodium hydroxide as follows: (CH2)n(COOH)2 +
2NaOH à (CH2)n(COONa)2 + 2H2O
2.0 g of succinic acid were dissolved in water and the solution made up to 250
cm3. This solution was placed in a burette and 18.4 cm3 was
required to neutralise 25 cm3 of 0.1 moldm-3 NaOH.
Deduce the molecular formula of the acid and hence the value of n.
I got
Moles of NaOH = 25*0.1/100 = 2.5x10^-3
Moles of S.A = 1/2 of that which is 0.00125
18.4/1000=0.0184 dm^3
sooo 0.00125/0.0184dm^3 = 0.068 mol dm^3 which is succinic acid conc
2g of succ in 250 cm^3 so
8 g in 1dm^3
8/0.068=117.65
117.65-90 (molar mass of 2COOH)
= 27.65/2=1.975 round up = 2
n=2?
Is this right guys, bcos i have to do 10 qs like this and want to know if i did it right b4 i do anymore,
DemOlitionthe answer is clearly HUNNIT THOU...and do ur own damn homework

Yeah enit, they get paid to fucking teach it, not us, so they should make you comfortable with it, not us
wormdogg10Honestly, stop being a lazy retarded fuck.
