this i totally agree with, part of the fun of playing was in chasing down all the amenities.  the more that are out there, the easier they are to get, the less there is to work for, the less reason there is to play.   it's actually hard to believe there are still people out there without at least an xbox core though.

i've always tried to share the wealth, i'm not looking to get back any of the money i've invested here, but there's not much that can be done about the people that are hoarding them looking for a payday when they leave the game.  i don't think you can just take something away that people have spent money on (favors or real cash).
