I dont think this could work since it already sells other weapons in the shops already, but i have always been wondering about customizable shives where you can customize your very own shive by finding parts and materials like sharp glass shards  and some cloth's for the handle, it's even more realistic than for example buying a gun in the jail were you can just in real life pop every guards head and start a riot. Shive's are like customized knifes that every inmate struggles to make and i have seen it in every criminal movie. In short customized shive's could be fun to make and use and it's more realistic to make and find in a real prison, it's not like you can just buy like a freaking gun to shoot everyone in sight in real life captivity...
