A good measure of were you stand stat/level wise is to catch up to someone at least 2 levels above you that train the same stats as you then you usually dont have to worry about most at your level (depending on what kind of fighter they are)

and about stats, some people never were in (big) wars so they could train and train, but when you also train speed like me and been in more wars (like me) where i mugged alot you gain stats fast (criming aint a big stat boost anymore for me), so then it aint fair for someone the same lev as me that never was in war to say my stats suck

i think you mean exp..and yes..in a war..you can level easily by beating people higher level than you..then u get to their level..and you dont gain the assload of exp so you level out..with the same stats but at a higher level....bottom line..stats matter..level doesnt
