it's really not though, because the person you're showing respect for may or may not be back (and this is in general, not directed at U). if they are, great. the game needs all the active players it can get. If they do stay banned though, you just put yourself out there as supporting someone that was banned for (what the staff sees as) a legitimate reason, and at the end of the day, this is a dictatorship.

believe me, i don't agree with nikki or si getting banned for what they did when others had more serious lapses in judgement and been let back, but mu, tommy, ajja, and sangria really do know what they're doing.
