well u call it bias i call it cultural shock, when u first get to a new place most ppl find problesm and feel out of place which can make a person feel defencive, when i went to japan holy shit going from a small city to tokyo japan was a shock and i start feeling and seeing problems with the ppl there, and i caught myself and went how would they feel if they came to my city, and look past the ppl the culture and just went with it, thats sumthing ppl have problems with
