Wouldn't make a difference. Unless stuff is dug up, the items won't get repopulated into empty spots.

I'm okay with the inactives out there, I just want more cornucopia's after spending the long weekend at the parents place with slow slow internet, now back home on my very high speed network and ready for digging.
