Ah the word Lucifer means "light bringer" in Latin. Also means "morning star" etc etc. However, the Catholic Church backing even the naming of the telescope really has me scratching my head. I mean seriously, if they are actually backing this, then the next time I go to church I AM going to fart and I don't care how well it goes over....

I just wonder where the term lucifer came from to mean devil because the most original bibles are latin and devil is obviously diablos in latin. I looked for a translation of lucifer in latin and according to the all mighty google
