Irish ?
yea and thats what i meant when youre parents are born somewhere but you were born somewhere else than yea you are what your parents are but i hate ppl that look in like 4 generations back and brag about that nationality.
Well why the fuck not? You ask them what they are, and they tell you.
dumbest thing i heard in a long while... so everyone has to have that nationality in which country he/ she is born?
what about war refugees, for example? they come to a country they didn't chose for free will but just because it's saver for them than where they use to live. maybe they get asylum and stay in this safe country for 2 or more generations. should they forget their cultural identity and their roots?
im from sunny northern ireland, fucking love it
DONT KNOCK IT, JUST BLOCK IT i understand that but what i meant mostly were the percentages. example: whats your nationality. oh im part of german, polish, and russian. that would be alright. but giving it in details like yea im 10% this 3%that etc...
Iffy situation, but bottom line, if they came from Sierra Lione, they are from.
If they come from Pakistan or Iran claimly persecution in their own country, technically they become a citizen of their new home, but they aren't 100% British, or American, or wherever they ended up.
If they came into the country legally then they are a citizen, but they still aren't a national as such.
They shouldn't forget their culture or roots, but coming from this island, there aint much to the Irish culture cept throwing abuse and drinking along with some traditional music. And a bit of religious banter, but meh, I'm not religious.
In fact, the only thing to be proud of is the music, and you don't have to be Irish to play the music.
The fact being that once it gets to the stage where 'my grandparents are Irish( or part Irish)', it takes the piss.
Even if someones parent were Irish, yet their child wasn't (take my mate for example who is British, but was born in germany), overall they were born into a family that at the time, lived permanently in a different country. He has a British passport currently and lives in N.Ire, but he's still german to me.
Sunny, wtf you talking bout!?
*looks outside*
