Just found this out today.  Japan has been using some of the tsunami relief fund money, given to them by nations and individual sponsors alike, to pay for whaling.  The reason?  The Japanese claim it is to try and help costal towns recover.

I think this is disgusting!  Not many people I hate but Japan is definitely number one by a long way.  Absolutely sickening that they hunt endangered whales 'for research' but even worse that they are using donated money to pay for this.

I hate to say it but if they behave like that, I feel no sympathy to them as a nation for what happened with the tsunami.  On an individual scale I feel sorry for them, but as a nation I wish them nothing but they worst.

I'm not gonna generalize a whole nation and "hate" them because of a few dumbasses that did this retarded shit...(hate is a really strong word also, I try not to use it). Thing is that the whaling commission applied to the government to the money and the government granted it. The people elected this government so something is seriously wrong

yeah i believe once japan was the second strongest economy in the world and they still had to hunt whales crazy sushipeople

Not just the japanese..eskimos in alaska and native canadiens who inhabit n.pole region also hunt whales..it's more a customary tradition and way of life for these ppl...now going out w/ a fleet of multi-million dollar whaling ships ain't cool...but a skift and wooden spear..hmmmm..call me ishmael:)
