Hey all,

I gotta write a medical ethics paper and my topic is heathcare in prisons.

How do you feel about this? Should prisoners get healthcare? How much care should they be allowed to get? Are prisons too lax on care for prisoners?

Tell me how you feel, in detail, I'm hoping by getting lots of opinions I can write this paper more easily. Its kickin my ass right now!!

Yes of course they should. How is someone in prison for example going to pay for healthcare if say they got stabbed, just lay where they got stabbed and wait to die. Even though they did something to deserve to be there do they deserve to be treated as second class citizens? Every person deserves the right to health care regardless off social class or race.

I'm really surprized this thread was not started by eazyas.

I think, that, criminals should be put in nursing homes. And that elders should be sent to prison.

Of course they should receive healthcare... but that being said... i am from new zealand... where we let some prisoners go hiking in the forests...
