I know it's been mentioned before.  However I was thinking you could impliment the chat without worrying about the interface and finding room for it, etc.

I was thinking it could be just like a little image or link next to the "inmates online" or to the top left near "home, news, forum, contact, Chat".  Might be cool.

Then when you click that a pop up chat appears. Like in a new window.  That way you can stil game, and be logged in the chat.  I would disable html of course.

That would clean up the forum's alot.  Not that you need it, but there is open source out there like crazy (as u know).  Don't spend too much time on the chat, but I know it'd be a feature that would be used.
