ok so here is a proble i memeber my dad telling me when i was a kid that always stumped me:

Three men go to stay at a motel, and the man at the desk charges them $30.00 for a room. They split the cost ten dollars each. Later the manager tells the desk man that he overcharged the men, that the actual cost should have been $25.00. The manager gives the bellboy $5.00 and tells him to give it to the men.

The bellboy, however, decides to cheat the men and pockets $2.00, giving each of the men only one dollar.

Now each man has paid $9.00 to stay in the room and 3 x $9.00 = $27.00. The bellboy has pocketed $2.00. $27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00 - so where is the missing $1.00?

now duh you can just search this on goggle but honestly if you didnt know that u could search it in goggle how would u find out hey? kinda a bit of a brain buster when  you think of it

They didnt pay 9$ though they paid 10$. Its just kinda re reading the equation in a differnt way to get a differnt answer

25$+3$=28$ the equation adds up.... you cant divide 28 by 3 last time i checked.... on of the men got rippped off and didnt get crap lol.... and wut are they doing in ONE hotel room all alone in there lol

I think the bottom line is, you're trying to equal 30 again, when you should be trying to equal 25. They were SUPPOSED to pay $25, they only got 1 dollar back each which = $27, the bellboy pocketed the $2 that would have made it $25

but mufasa its not trying to get 25$ :P its trying to get 30$.. i think atleast... itll equal 30$ after the bellboy was supose to give them the 5$... but he only gave 3... equaling 28$ (6566 did his math wrong) then the two the bellboy kept makes it all evened out... :P

he gave three people 2 dolars and he cept 3 insted of giving them three dolars and he keeps 2

You lost the damn buck when you divided 25 by 3...each man had to pay 8 dollars and 33,(3) cents...or 9,33 after they received the other dollar. And if you also add the 2$ the clerk pocketed(let's call it a tip), you'll get your 30$.

So we are back to lorddoom's valid question: what are three guys doing in a single motel room?
