Morality

We all know that staying in prison affects ones own

morality. Loosing freedom, grey walls, etc. That’s why I think it could be a

good idea to add a “Moral” system. I don’t play much browser games but I think

this could be an overall new idea.

How it would work:

Well, this is just an idea. But we all have this image of

how tough and rough other prisoners are with each other, and one rumor is that

some of them like to poke it where the sun don’t shine.

In a humorous way, I think this game could get away with it.

First let me explain the overall idea. Moral would be like

acting more or less like luck would in a rpg. It wouldn’t be a high

denominator, basically, it would have 3 modes. On, Off, and neutral. Or Happy,

Sad or neutral. Or +1, -1 or 0. Whatever you call it is not important. The idea

is that it would ultimately effect your fighting ability, mugging and your

effectiveness to searching the prison yard. Not the casino games or the grave

digging game.

New prisoners wouldn’t get this option. Why? Because new

prisoners are often being picked on, not the other way around. High lvl

prisoner would not be able to target the non targetable new prisoners for

obvious reasons that will become clearer once I actually start explaining how

to get moral.

The morality system would be available to you at lvl 5. Now

here’s what it could do.

Attacking morality: Positive moral 1% crit chance, Negative

moral -5% speed, def and atk. The higher your lvl the higher your crit chance

would get at a maximum of 5%. The negative % effect of moral would stay the

same. That is, -5% to all stats.

Mugging morality: I never mugged yet… have no idea of the success

rate. But my idea is that you would have a small chance to steal an item or

drug and the mugger would also have a small chance to discover your cell

combination. Like 0.1% ( 1/1000 ). With a negative effect, you would become

sloppy, less motivated and therefore you would have a noticeable chance % reduction

in your ability to mug. But at the same time, as your in “I don’t give a shit”

mood, if you succeed your mug attempt, you would steal somewhere between 50%

and 100% of someones in hand cash + getting him to the infirmary. The logic is

that you wouldn’t think about being careful about the notion of not being

caught and just take as much as you can, forcefully, and leave.

Search the yard morality: Positive effect , small % in

increased gold find, a small chance % to find items. Negative would be -50% money

but a +10% or 25% chance for items. The logic here is that as your moral (or

mood) is down, your mind doesn’t focus on the little shiny pieces between the

grass, your attention is towards what’s easy to find, like bottles or chocolate

bars.

Obviously, a neutral moral have neither good or bad effect

on the player.

Now these are just crude ideas that surely could use more

depth and thought. But if the overall idea of having a moral system pleases

you, then ill ask you to bear with me a little more and continue your reading,

as the next section are ideas on how to incorporate this system.

So my original thought was simple, it was to incorporate a

new “fighting” mode. We are able to attack and mug. Now we could also have to

option to “Bang”, the “humorous” form of the word rape (if such a thing exists).

Banging a player would give you additional moral. Why? Because we all know that

sex relieves stress and puts you in a good mood. And because it’s a humourous

rumor that these things happen in jail. Now with the rest of the idea.

The reason why I’m focusing this to be done in a humorous

way, is to prevent from upsetting stuck up adults. Because let’s face it. The

problem with vulgar language or actions isn’t because of the 13 year old, he

already knows all of this. It’s the parents/adults trying to keep their kids as

“pure and innocent” as possible. Anyway…

I was talking about banging to gain morality. Banging

someone would gain you positive moral while getting yourself caught bending

would get you negative moral. To keep this from being a “gang bang” That is,

people abusing the Bang option for a laugh or for any reason at all, you could

only do this once a day.

If you are the receiver. You can’t just take the first one

on your left and violently express yourself by trusting your way to gain

positive morality. You’d have to take “revenge” to gain neutral moral and you

wouldn’t be able to gain positive moral for the rest of the day.

How to get revenge? You’d have 2 options. 1) You could

attack him and hope to win to gain your pride back or 2)By incorporating a “revenge”

option. Something very similar to what is called “hitman” on other sites. You

would have to pay an amount equal to your own lvl to place a revenge on the

person that savagely took you from behind. As there are numerous ways to gain

money, this shouldn’t be too hard too achieve. 3 players would have to sign up

for this task. Once the 3 players have applied for the job, they would all

attack that person at the same time, combining their strength, speed and

defense, to finally split the cash into 3.

The one getting what he deserves would have his moral drop

back to neutral and would not be able to get it back up.

To prevent a person from being mass banged, because he would

eventually not have  enough money to get a

revenge on every one. A person achieving a successful revenge would have a tag

on their profil, something similar to “respected” but to show that this person

does not take this ass exploitation too lightly and he’s not afraid to fight

back,so don’t mess with him, that would be the comprehensible message.

So that’s about it, hope you didn’t have too much difficulty

following this. Share you thoughts if you like this or not, throw in some

ideas, etc, etc.

Wow, this post went very in-depth (no pun intended).

The morale system sounds like a great idea. Banging, on the other hand, sounds like a bad idea. There are plenty of ways to gain moral, aside from "banging" people.

This raises an interesting point though: where could we get morale from, and what will it ultimately affect? I believe banging may be the solution, but not the sort of banging you had in mind. I was thinking Gang Banging (stay with me, it's not worse than your idea, I promise).

Mufasa and I have been duscussing gangs and junk. One possible option for gangs is obviously some type of gang fights/brawls/etc where gangs can pit themselves against each other. This is where gang banging comes in. You can earn morale. Morale could affect each player or the gang as a whole.

This opens up a whole new area of discussion about what morale can affect, and how it can affect gang interaction. Your gang's win/loss ratio in battles could heavily affect morale, and your morale would have a positive or negative impact on future battles. I think that might be a better route to go. It's best to steer away from buttsecks, no matter how humorous you try to make it.

P.S. you might want to look up the definitions of moral and morality.

I'll admit that my idea of banging might be a bit "overboard". I

wanted to try and think of a system that would engage every players as

individuals, not just gangs. But now that I think about it, gangs in jail are

probably a bigger morale factor then I thought. Gangs in jail who are

known to play it rough are surely very intimidating to others, effecting

therefore the morale of everyone else around them. So an individual who would

forcefully engage himself into butt nirvana with an other inmate, would probably

get his ass ended over real quick if the inferior male has a gang. On the other

hand, those who are in gangs are probably known by other inmates...

So in that logic, individuals engaging into the banging of others isn't a

smart idea (unless they are in a gang). And my form of banging isn't morally

correct ( I got that moral right ). This is of course a game, so right and

wrong doesn't exist. There are murder games out there much more immoral then

the act of daily buttsecks. But we all have different points of view.

I'm happy though that you like the whole idea of a morale system. But,

before I pat myself on the back and open up a new bottle of whisky, I’d like to

have Mufasa’s personal opinion on this and those of other players as well.

Oh and jmwinata, I know you're a cool guy. I mean, we can all see how cool of a guy you are just by looking at your signature. But did you know that you can be both cool and smart?
