Morality of Murder
Either way, you're basically killing someone. You're forced to make a decision between killing a group of five or just one person.
Can we talk about the cannibalization portion of the video now? I'd go 3 days without eating somebody.
lol
That part is a whole different ball game...not even made for a website like this honestly, as Inquisitive as everyone is over something simple i can't even imagine trying to get opinions on that one
"Murder is the unlawful killing of another human being with "malice aforethought", and generally this state of mind distinguishes murder from other forms of unlawful homicide (such as manslaughter)." --Wiki--
"Malice aforethought is the "premeditation" or "predetermination" that was required as an element of some crimes in some jurisdictions,[1] and a unique element for first-degree or aggravated murder in a few.[1]" --Wiki also--
This would be a situation you'd have no control with, more or less...

I think it's your fault for even asking us. I'm a fan of the IEAGLES too.
I can understand his point though, it's pretty annoying when everyone is poking holes in your situation.
you obviously don't even get the point of the question
there is no "well what if this, and what if that" the question is a single question and that is it
i'm not asking for "Well its not technically murder" or "Can a trolley even kill you"

It's a hypothetical (spelling?) situation... no need to get worked up over it,tough... He posted something on here, can't tell me he did not expect this to happen. And it's not like anyone is trying to derail the thread... Everyone kept on point so far...
Kristop...I think more goes into this question to get a legit answer. who are the 5 people, who's the 1 person? that would greatly affect mine and anyone's decision. Is it 5 older people and the 1 is a kid or teenager or even someone in their 20s? In that case I'd take out the 5 because the 1 would still have a lot to live for whereas the 5 led a long life. Are the 5 poor people and the 1 is Bill Gates-style rich? In that case I'd take out the 1 because they could probably afford to replace broken organs with robot parts, or at the very least afford to get enough medical attention to live and receive care for the rest of their life. This really is a question that can only be honestly answered if people knew more about the people that might live or die.
That's why I posted this.
you either save 5 people by killing 1 or save 1 by killing 5
that's it lol
well ud only save 4 if u kill us one n ud save 1 by killin 4....jus sayin tho
lol...that makes no sense
you save 5 out of 6
or 1 out of 6
the only difference is...you let something happen, or you make a conscious decision to turn the trolley in order to save more people
The obvious decision here is to kill the one person, you save more lives that way since they're all strangers. A trickier question would be, "You're on a run away trolley, it's hurtling towards a group of 5 complete strangers but you can turn the trolley onto another track to save them at the last second, the only catch is that your best friend is at the end of that track. What do you do?"
Kristop...That's simple. Fuck those 5 people, I'm not killing my best friend for 5 people I don't know.
