We toyed with having a larger viewport, it just doesn't look right in the end. It's TOO big, plus we'd have to change the whole layout. The map is there if you need to see the whole yard for some reason.

I'm thinknig we'll keep it hybrid like LA. Standard maps for doing shit like going to your cell, market, warden etc, then the actual explorable maps for doing shit like crimes and digging.

As for the cash you find, it's actually dependent on a lot, including your stamina. It's also fixed, so if someone digs in the spot you have before you, there's less for you to find. When lots of people are playing the same thing, I think you'll begin to notice the amounts you dig up going down unless you find a spot that not many people know about

I enjoyed it - it made it far more interactive rather than just being able to be half asleep and just clicking to search I did not ever get it to work in Safari, but I did have full functionality in Chrome. The moving step-by-step was cool and the fact that you can't just walk thru shrubs, etc is good as well. Perhaps if you were looking to add to it at all, maybe searching IN the shrubs would be cool, possibly even with a higher yield of items in the shrubs or under rocks? Other than that, all around, very very cool interactive add

I just re-read that post and realised how ungrateful it sounded. It shows an immense amount of effort and work and is actually a really good way of playing, i just prefer the old way is all. Hope I made it clear tho that the skill involved was noticed!

I agree. Tommy actually had the idea of making certain things searchable along with digging. You CAN find items, but I don't think I've populated the NJ yard with items just yet.

*edit* actually I did. I guess the ratio is just set pretty high

One thing I noticed while playing, if you dig and move, it stays on the "items" tab, I think I'll have it light up the players tab if there's players there. Same if you're on players but you pass items.

it's all good. I know this is a radical change, and it's easier for us to accept because we see the bigger vision beyond just "searching"

Thanks Mu.

In the interim, how do i pop back to the old view? Will there b emore extensive testing, with limited missions etc, because i'd like to give the new ideas a fair try.
