it was every single day. Clinton has the dot com bubble, everybody and their mother was throwing money into the stock market and companies were raising capital like crazy. Clinton wasn't a bad president, Bush wasn't great but he was as shank said, dragged over the coals day in and day out.

everyone blames bush for the economy. Yes, Bush, did some stuff he shouldn't have, BUT, nobody wants to blame Chris Dodd or Barney Frank for what they did to the housing industry. They basically forced banks to loan to sub-prime candidates because they said everyone should get a house. Well, banks were offering loans with 0% down and cheap ARM mortgages for houses that were way out of people's price range. Tell that to someone who doesn't have a clue on how to budget money, what are they going to do? They're going to go get a nice house for as much as they are approved to spend.

enter higher gas prices due to the oil speculation and our dependance on foreign oil, now folks are spending money on gas and not on their mortgage. Then the bubble bursts, housing market stopped as nobody was buying, prices on houses dropped fast since no one was buying.

I've heard 3 defense points brought up on Obama... auto industry (he didn't save Ford, did he??), UBL (anyone would have pulled the trigger on him), and ending the war (didn't he get us into Afganistan, I thought Dems were anti-war).

On cars, GM is still a disaster. They are BEGGING the government to sell their stake of the company (that is sitting at a MAJOR loss on the tax payers dime). They are focused on producing that fucking piece of shit chevy volt that nobody wants to spend $45,000 on so the goverment has to offer subsidies to get folks to buy it. GM is losing $200,000+ on the sale of each Chevy Volt. THAT'S GREAT BUSINESS.
