OBAMA OR ROMNEY
Well if someone indeed is racist then I believe they should get all the shit coming their way. I been reading the thread since beginning I just cant be bother debating politics or religion very much. Some people are so passionate about their views that even a reasonable and fair statement can be blown off as irrational. Mostly people cant debate these topics rationally. Cant say I read every word of the 116 pages and not going to look through whole thing but I didnt notice it myself. But racism is a sick disease, so if you feel he is I don't blame you.
ps. my daughter is on medicaid, even though I could easily qualify for a lot of other assistance programs - i dont apply. maybe shaw and hokie hate me too

Ambitous
hokiefanI don't discriminate, I hate everyone equally
Seriously though I have no problem with someone using programs to get their feet back under them. I have a problem with those who abuse these programs and more importantly, the people who go out expecting these benefits. That again has nothing to do with race or anything, it has to do with American's taking advantage of a program run by the government.
It isn't doesn't even always have to do with the benefits, just the expectation that someone else has to do something for them. I see this at work everyday from a lot of people. We try to be nice and hand out gift cards when the we hit certain metrics, and folks complain that the gift cards aren't enough money, or we didn't get the gift cards handed out fast enough, etc. etc. It's always something.
shawshankif you look back you will notice i am 1 of the 1st posters to congratulate the dem's and obama on his win....this has nothing to do w/ color to me..it's a philisophical differance in ideology w/in the democratic and republican parties..or atleast how i see it...i felt the same way about clinton, gore, kerry and now obama..i live in massachusetts and never voted for a kennedy in my life..so the color of the candidate means nothing to me....i disliked clinton for many reasons, wouldn't give kerry or a gore my vote..now disagree immensely w/ obama and the choices he's made and is making.....so to interpret my views as racist,or my actions are untrue..i called out simple man and said i felt bad for the turn his life took and am glad theirs a safety net for himself or a position neo might be in at home..but thats the same thing romney said..theirs a safety net set up for people who need it..but the net is not a multi-generational way of life.
HennyPennyThere is a lot of half truths and embellishments on both sides concerning welfare. But if you decipher all the bs, it comes down to both sides ultimately wanting the same thing, although you may not recognize it by the language used. Both sides believe there should be help for those that desperately need it, but no one wants people to be gaming the system or a program that is not financially sustainable.
Raul_DukeSame in the Uk, it has just become a way of life through generations and not the safety net it's designed to be and it's a disgrace. fuck these people that don't wanna get off their asses n try, always stood with a hand out. smh.

JPISTOLINOfuck the card bring these back

the real food stamps....
shawshankYou got that right JP..would cut down on most of the EBT fraud going on..our local news station did an investigation this fall on EBT card abuse..they monitored a plaza w/ a wal-mart,a bank branch and a liquor store..all 3 stores had an atm machine inside (in massachusetts they load money onto EBT cards that user can w/draw at atm's)..after 3 months guess which atm had the most EBT card usage???.....liquor store 85%,wal-mart 10% and bank 5%...what's up with that??
