whats every ones thoughts on the sequester?

Definitely not an ideal situation, but as of now I can't see dems and repubs agreeing on what should be cut and what shouldn't be, which would result in no cuts without sequestration. Hopefully some of the groups that get reduced funding will find ways to become more efficient by doing more with less.

Why fight to end segregation? Because wwjd!

????????????wtf....but as far as the sequester goes,I don't see it NOT happening,and probably a good thing in a way..it will force massive spending cuts across the board,and as henny alludes to,will force entities to live w/in a budget...just like millions of households have to do everyday...I don't see any other way we were going to get massive spending cuts...and that's what the country needs atm.

we are fucked, get over it.... bush fucked up bad, obama made it 6-7 trillion dollars worse in his first term, now he is getting stonewalled by congress (partially because they are majority repubs, the other part - most of them if not all dont trust his competence). If i didnt like nyc so much - id contemplate moving to another country.

Something needs to happen. Someone has to make the difficult decisions. We can't keep spending the way we are. Obama's answer is to tax us more, YAY. NOT. He doesn't wish to cut any spending, that's not making a difficult decision, that's just screwing over America. This country has a spending problem, and if we don't get it under control, things are going to get very bad for us.

im a moderate conservative... im a vet... if it were up to me i could cut our spending in half and make it work for us - it's quite simple - shut down all foreign bases (for most part) maybe keep a few in europe and 1 or 2 in japan. Bring all troops home and instead of having them drill and do dumb shit have them rebuild this nation piece by piece. Do you realize how much money the usa would save if we took away our foreign bases? we could bring troops home and keep them domestic - build more energy plants and some high speed railroads (possibly one up the east coast and one up the west coast to start out. More energy plants = more domestic production, faster production making us more self sufficient and not having to worry about dependence on other countries like china or countries we get oil from. That is a pipe dream - but it would work if people who knew wtf they were doing were in office and in the proper positions
