I have no problem w/ people who paid into the system getting something out...as far as your mom or even me or you..their should be a gradual rise in age for receiving ss..grandfather older folks,middle agefolks..but lifespan has increased since ss inception..maybe 68..and tax 100% of earned income,why stop at 120k or whatever it is..and allow investment options.

American life expectancy is avg. 77 yrs old (less for men more for woman) So we should only be able to enjoy retirement for 9 yrs? I worked all my life to relax for 9 yrs?

if someone makes 100k a year, they pay 10,000 in taxes. If someone makes 100 million a year, they pay 10 million in taxes. everybody wants to chastise the guy who made 100 million. Well he just paid $9,990,000 more in tax than the other guy. Isn't that FAIRNESS?

so, then we are in agreement that if the labor participation rate is in a decline, it would essentially hurt SS, less money going in, less money to go out. Remember, there is no LOCK BOX.
