So I'm still a noob, pretty much, and I gotta say that this is my favorite RPG in my bookmarks list.

I've been around to see 3 Open Yards now, and i must say that it keeps the game interesting. Maybe this discussion has been brought up before, and I'm sure it has, but I have tried searching to no avail.

How about opening up the yard once a week for 12 hours or so? Yeah, it could become a programming nightmare, but it could become worth it in the end...

Here's how:

Players that want to play in the yard can buy a spot anytime during the week, kind of the way the lottery works. The cost should be whatever is worth it for players and Idle Media alike, maybe 10-20 favors. Then on an agreed upon time that works for the majority of the players, the yard should open and we can dig away

The items themselves don't have to be all new. Maybe grab some of the same items as the lottery, and place some here and there, the rarity according to a percentage of the amount of players that signed up.

A concern might be that the market may then be flooded with amens, driving the prices down, but overall, I think it'll kinda be cool to also introduce a feature where if you lose against a fight, you lose some of your money too. That way, the game's economy stays local.

Just a thought. Any suggestions, guys?

The main concern, as you said, would be the economy. I'm not going to go into how bad of an idea it would be to put the rare items in lotteries accessible by digging in the yard once a week.

those are just details. Like the pot of gold for the st patty's event. Not too many of them were around. Some other finds could be like 6-packs of red bulls or raw weed or something. Would you pay 15 favors for a ticket for Open Rec in the Yard?

It WILL become permanent, regardless of who complains. Citation would be in the various announcement threads regarding the yard... Or this post of course.
