A lot of NPCs in the yard now drop quest-related items. Since we have no way of making sure you have an open backpack slot, the only solution is to plop it on the ground on the spot you're standing on. However, only YOU can see your quest-related rewards, so nobody should be able to steal it.

So make sure you grab those quest rewards when you complete a leg of the quest!
