Originally posted by Black_Star this may be just for me because im a fuckin psychopath, but whenever i felt the way you described i decided to create a landmark for myself and told myself so long as i have that landmark, everything is fine.... might not be the best example but recently i had an extremely dank weed brownie and that shit fucked me up for a full 24hours but in the first 4-5 hours i could barely see because everything was blurred and vibrating and i started to panic a little but through it i saw my lamp in the corner of the room and told myself so long as i have that lamp i will be fine and i began to calm down and relax

im gonna take ur lamp

hmmm when i used to have terrible generalised anxiety without agrophobia there were a few tricks i learnt... One was when i felt the early warning signs of a panic attack coming on i would need to get up and go walking for 15mins as fast as i could... this raises your heart rate to that or above of what your panic will take you and then tricks your brain into seeing this as a normal thing thus lifting your panic. It sounds crazy but it works...

Also breathing... Longer out than in... 3 breaths in one count pause then 4 counts out... And breathing into your stomach rather than your chest... i have learnt to do that so no one knows.. and i can manage panic in a crowded room now and no one would know... lol

Thought and self talk challenging... taking not of the way you speak to yourself... observing patterns... fears... and then finding evidence to counter them... it is a bit more complicated than that explanation... but it works... I can do heaps now... couldn't do much at all before...

Anxiety often goes hand in hand with Depression... just don't give up... and keep talking... xx
