Both systems are likely to not be compatible with previous generations. So better accept that now both sides.

Most people are loyal to one or other and will buy that one thats how it is.

The ps4 specifications are a bit better then xbox.

"Headphone Jack" on ps4 controller

"Convenience Features: There will be background downloading and uploading, meaning that the console can both update itself and download games while still being played. You will also be able to stream your game play sessions and create quick video clips to send to friends and share with the PS network. PS4 also allows the ability to stream games instantly. The spectation feature allows you to share your game session and allow friends to take over your control. PS Vita can be used to play remote sessions of PS4 games."

Im sure the xbox will be sweet as well, whichever you buy you will be happy im sure.

As for backwards compatability, no, however there will be a replacement. You stream something through the cloud to a different console. E.G PS3 to PS4, PS4 to PS Vita etc. However, they will probably not have it done for release.

u can use ps vita to play on ps3 that was the point of the vita comercial with dude walkin outside playing then goes in the house and continues on ps3 so already not a new feature also the turn off thing is kinda copy of the psp which u can do that altho u said switch it on in seconds is there guna be a limit on how long b4 the game actually shuts off cuz if then whats the point say u have to go do suttin u have to be done in time to come back and resume ur game y not just save it and shut it off in the first place? headphone jack on controller not sure if the jack on the xbox does that or not but thats where u hook ur headset and idk bout ps32 controllers as i dotn have them hopefully the price is what ur saying cuz 700 i dont think many would be sold
