some people feel safer with it, others like collecting guns, some like going to the range and shooting them, protect and defend yourself from a government from taking your rights away... there are many reasons

why do you have jumper cables or a spare tire in your car? you dont need it every day maybe not even every year, but its good to have in case of an emergency....same thing with an assault weapon, you may not need it today or for the next 10 years but if there was ever a time when you could use one to protect you and your family and you didnt have it you would be sorry

Why do you need an ASSAULT RIFLE TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY? You cant protect them with a hand gun? You think the Government is coming to get you? Thats a mental health issue and thats why you shouldnt have one!!!!

Because it is the second Amendment. If you ban them it does nothing to stop crime. What it does do is take them away from the law abiding citizens. I think most of us need to do a google search on how many times a gun has saved the lives of people. The only thing we see on the news is how they kill because that is what the government wants us to see. They want our backing on taking them off the streets not to save lives but to make sure we don't ever rise up against them and take the power back. I own all kinds of guns and if you don't want to own one that is ok with me. Bottom line is if we let them keep taking our rights away were does it end?

Why should I not have the right to buy a semi-auto rifle? Why should the government tread on said right? Lets say I live on a ranch in Texas? I sure as hell wouldn't want to have to mess with a bolt when I'm staring down a rattler or pack of coyote.

Do you know the difference between many so called "assault weapons", and plenty of other semi-auto rifles? Their stock, they look different. The actual mechanics of them are the same. Persecution because they look different.

One is labeled an "Assault" weapon, one is not. There is no difference as to the firing mechanism, the mechanics are all the same. Makes no sense.
