I don't know if it's the media that spins it (and it could very well be, since we don't exactly get Russian broadcasts to highlight their point of view), but I've always had a negative impression of Russia. Just seems they always play dirty and are never on the up and up.

I mean, who gets banned from the Olympics for cheating, gets a slight reprieve, and then cheats anyway? Seems it's always plausible deniability and smirks.

On the other hand, shady election aside, many of his people do seem to love him, so I guess there's something good? Then again, many loved the Führer.

RT news is a good news site for anyone wondering the russian point of view. I read news from all over the world, alot of freelance news as well as mainstream media. I find its the best way of getting a balanced view of the world we live in. People should remember that there are no good guys in the world anymore, we are controlled by corporations and war is a big money maker. The media, which are mostly controlled by the same corporations that control our politicians, are constantly pitting us against each other and making the next boogyman for us to fear.

I read that often that the media is spreading fear because of X company or controlling entity. I think that shows a disregard for basic human nature (or at worse, denial and scapegoating). The media covers scandalous shit because that's what people like to read. If saving puppies and helping old ladies cross the street drew eyes, then that's what would be covered. They print what sells because they are a company that has bills and employees to pay.
