“The Good Soldier” follows the journeys of five combat veterans from different generations of American wars as they sign up, go into battle, and eventually change their minds about what it means to be a good soldier.

A film that could not be timelier, “The Good Soldier” poses the question: What is it that makes a good soldier? The answer: The ability to kill other human beings.

“The Good Soldier” reveals how soldiers simultaneously grapple with their duty and their own humanity.

The veterans tell of their alien surroundings, their connection to their comrades, and the ghastliness of their reality. Some were wounded, some lost their buddies, some lost their sanity as they tried to quench their intense thirst for revenge by killing the enemy and, consequently, killing civilians. Some buried the enormity of their actions and did not speak of them – knowing that they were only following orders their commanders had issued to conduct the war.

Each man, in his own time, discovers the courage to confront his past actions and begin his healing. Still haunted by their time in combat, their ability to face themselves in their waking life and achieve self- reconciliation is the mark of true valor

Its saddens me to hear what these young soldiers have to go through.

Seems like the shit gets more vicious war by war, in the early wars a lot of times they did what they had to do to live, in Iraq for example, I heard they use to carry shovels around with them so if they shoot civilians they can throw a shovel on the body, and say he was planting an IED.

Just sad to know millions of people die for shit that's untrue, and based on nothing but business.

With all the wikileaks stuff, not one condemnation is made as well or rather it doesn't change anything. War is like PB, the stronger you are, the more shit you can do and no one can stop you.

Just think of what Hitler did and got away with until he finally blasted himself, he fooled several nations and got pretty much exactly what he wanted, thats itself is a historical proof of how generally stupid people are, and how much it really takes to fool a whole country if you're in the right position by throwing a couple of words around.

Some people say GW Bush was an idiot, really I beg to differ, the was a genius and he managed to fool the whole world with his stupid ass claims, just like that Saddam had WOMD.

And hey, last time I checked the US forces managed to go in there, fuck the whole country up (oil first) more than Saddam was doing himself aaand they managed to get him hanged, how isnt that a victory in a bush rats eyes?
