DemOlitionHow well does the gear even work? lets say the crossbow thing? or tripwires etc?

lets pretend you could beat me for a sec...i put the crossbow in my gear and attack and hit yo ass with it and you lose i would imagine

This is correct. To elaborate a bit more...
The crossbow has a chance to fire on each attack. Most "chance to..." Gear works like that. So the crossbow is MOST useful in a multi-hit fight where you have much higher speed so you're hitting a lot, but your opponent has high defense, so you're missing a lot.

Your post inspired me to modify the description of Gear a bit. Hopefully they're more helpful. Most notably, check the Trip Wire. Bet you never noticed it did that.

The equipped gear will still do its thing if you're attacked. Here's how it'll go down (WARNING, in-depth strategy might spring from this shit)
- Attacker clicks the "Attack" button
- Attacker attempts to use any Gear with "at the start of battle" abilities
- Defender attempts to use any Gear with "at the start of battle" abilities
- From then on, any time someone attacks, they attempt to use Gear with "on attack" abilities --THEN they do their normal attack (i.e. higher speed = more attacks = more chances to get a Gear use in)
- Battle ends when someone's HP hits 0
- Winner attempts to use any Gear with "on win" abilities
- Loser attempts to use Gear with "on lose" abilities
At some point we plan to add more flavorful Gear. For example: some type of item that has a chance to revive you if you lose a fight. Or, one that already exists but you can't use yet, a Burglar Mask that allows you to mug someone when you win a fight against them.
