uh...the british military uses an updated version of the accuracy international, the L115A3, which has an effective range of 1.4km..

So to hit that target that extra 3.6km away, dude's going to be aiming at the moon treating the sniper rifle more like a mortar.

Secondly, that negates the idea of the barrett (which is what I'm assuming youre talking about with the british squaddie and the 5km away target) as we don't use it (as far as I can tell).

The barrett (Model 95 I assume, as the 98B isn't .50 call) has a max range of 1.8km....must be effectve range....

So I suppose we are talking air support for the 5km kill?

This is just wrong....I've seen a pink AK47 before and thought that was bad.

There's a chick I occassionally do airsoft shoots with and see has most of her BB guns sprayed in pink camo. Hell she even has a pink digital camo outfit for the occassion.....

But a pink 'Hello Kitty' AR-15?

No.

That's just wrong....

no im talking about a british solider, who took a 5km kill in iraq with the 50cal. barret..

ill try and see if i can find a articale somewhere

http://theminiaturespage.com/plus/msg.mv?id=98409

theres also a articale about a british soldier taking at nearly 2km

so i might have been incorrect. but i dont think its unimaginable that a british solider might have used a 50.cal even though it issent a standard issue weapon at the british ranks.

when they use american sights, ammo etc.

but it only a rumor ive heard so ofc im not certain about anything

I'm not too sure how it is, but I'm pretty sure they can't pick and mix there own weapons unless some sort of solo/duo special forces style mission as in the mail's report..add ons, etc I don't know.

2km distance, yeah it'd be tricky, but possible with the right skill, and a little further as well if on an excellent vantage point with height and workable wind conditions, and again, skill.

Wish I had that kinda accuracy =P
