why not have say for examples sake 10 free spaces only available to those in the lower prisons to join your gang. this way it doesnt cost us anything to bring in the noobs and get them more involved from nearer the start of the game, possibly resulting in less inactive new players.

this may shock you, ive been wrong before but isnt keeping these new players playing our biggest problem in getting that inmates online number up?

just a suggestion, feel free to ridicule it as you all see fit lol

Getting new players into the game and keeping them is always an up hill battle for us (as for any other game).

But to add to this problem, many new players are bullied by higher level players (via shoutbox, usually) and accused of being dupes. This makes it doubly hard for us to keep new players.

So on one side, we have players saying we need more people in the game. And on the other side we have players shunning every newcomer for being a dupe with no evidence aside from, "He's not completely stupid, so he must be a dupe."

I'm leaning toward no, but I don't entirely disagree with your suggestion. I'll let players discuss it for a bit. I just want to use this opportunity to again request that any dupe suspicions be sent to staff via Contact form or direct message.

Or as soon as anyone writes the word "dupe" in the sb they get automatically banned from the sb for a week

Fuck you. Thread closed.

But seriously, a mentor/noob gang might be an interesting idea. Except that mentors are already pretty engrossed in their own gang activity.

Allowing the 10 free slots for noobs just opens up too many doors for exploitation.

i like the shoutbox admins idea to control that dupe accusation situation for incoming new players

and maybe it doesnt have to be a mentor you can create a new badge for active players to run that noob gang to help on the newer players to get adjusted
