I live in Texas and I've personally lived off the coast and around it all my life.

I also love chilling at the beach and fishing A LOT!

While I understand that this oil spill is not yet effecting my part of the gulf, It is inevitable.

To think that all these people in the gulf are losing their jobs before a disaster strikes is just irresponsible on behalf of the Federal Government.

The older I get the more I understand how America works and it's sad how we can turn politics into some sort of drama Tv show.

I don't care if you are Democrat or Republic because both parties are both crooks that talk about all this change and reform but ultimately nothing gets accomplished.

BP isn't going to stop the hole, why? There is over 750 Million ($750,000,000) dollars still waiting to be gushed out of a damn hole. BP is picking up all the oil that they can from surface to the bottom. Which isn't much, they just do it to keep up with less loss.

I wonder if they will also reimburse people who get sick and subsidize the farmers that lose their crop yield when a typical catergory 3 spreads huge amounts of oil inland.

since you like fishing ...they say most of all the oysters, shrimp, crabs, ect. what ev er lives on the bottom will eventually die ..theres a good chance that the whole fishing industry in the gulf will be obsolete with in a year or two because of this

Small fishing companies will fail, big ones will be able to cope with the loss

i have watched several programmes on this subject and i dont think ppl realize that millions of ppl (not just fishermen) hav lost serious money in areas already hit by the recession(which wasnt there fault in the first place) bp should be forced to pay out billions to the local trademen who hav been hit the hardest. And lets all remember that bp is one of the richest companies in the world and the true cost of the spill is being hidden by politicians connected to guess who (bp).its disgraceful and obama will let them away with a slap on the wrist..bloody joke
