do whatever you can see yourself doing everyday and being happy. If you would not mind doing either then think about the other stuff (ie money, vacation)

I would say job 1 for your choice man as u are experienced in that line of work and the pay is still good .

But hey , its your choice at the end of the day ...

I agree about taking job 1 since that's what you're good at. However if job 2 is aware of your lack of experience with surface mount technology, and are willing to work with you on that and you feel you can learn it quickly with proper training, then you should go for that. It's like you said, you don't want to get in over your head and then job 1's no longer available if job 2 doesn't work out.

I would go for the job your most comfortable doing, there is nothing worse than getting hired only for the owner to find out your not well suited to the job and you get the boot. A bit of research on job 2 would be vital to gain the knowledge you need. Up to you mate, it's your decision.

ye agree totally whatever suits ye and u think u can do more easily a would kill for a job like that except am stuck with a prt time job tryin to get something else

shyt man it wasnt eazy i came home from kail in june 20 2008 and i wrkd my ass off to get where i am.. im im still not gonna settle.. i want to retire when im 50..
