Why is this a problem?

Originally posted by Lord_Dong my suggestion is for the ratio to be put back to what it has almost always been.

It was never modified. It is, and always has been, a flat 50% beat down chance.

Strange as for a few days it was nowhere near 50/50 otherwise i wouldnt of mentioned it. Seems to have sorted its self out. Cheers anyway

i like the miracle mug system keeps shit a lil balanced

only thang is they can mug and mug and mug without much consequence

my only suggestion would be maybe make the chances of them gettin the no match for beat downs a lil higher

seems to be 1 for 100 right now

Originally posted by DemOlition the real beatdown that needs to be raised is the one that you give after someone fails to mug you

lol

The chance to miracle mug is pretty low. And the chance to beat down a would-be miracle mugger is relatively high.

I think the system does what it's supposed to do: It prevent players from becoming completely untouchable. This means the highest level player in the game can't walk around with $50bil cash on hand because he can never be mugged.

How is there no consequence? If I get miracle mugged by some low level player, then I infirm his ass for the next week.

Things arent really that simple in reality sir.

A simple attack/mug that leads to ICU only every 10 minutes doesnt really affect the SD scums that feed off mira mugs, most of them are lvl 14-20 with ridiculous buyouts, an attempt at a mira mug out of 20+ targets every 10 minutes usually does pay off rather quickly. These days its the norm for any PB bum tired of playing the game to exploit the mira mugs like that. I agree players shouldnt be sitting on too much cash/be untouchable (Fuck you Chang, im alot faster than most people that hold x5 my cash), but things need to be limited on the mira muggers side of it..

3 possible solutions for the parasites vs the masses situation would be:

1) Raise the beat-down % after someone tries to mug you - especially if the level (or speed?) difference is higher which i believe you suggested once KT? not sure how the beatdown works now, I dont see it happening that often though

2) Items/amenities shouldnt be able to be listed while in ICU/ISO

3) Raise ICU (and ISO?) buyouts - buyouts been untouched for quite some time, while the gamecash has only gotten easier to get.

Or instead of only being able to beat down and mug every 10 minutes you could Change it to 5. That way they waste more buy out and they spend more time infirmed. I don't really see this happening though

This is a good solution to that issue, and a good point.

vintral and I were talking about miracle mugs in the office when this thread first opened, and this came up. We termed this type of game play "Shotgun Mugging". And, like you, we see how it's grossly in favor of the mugger.

One possible solution would be to limit total attacks/mugs per 10 minutes, in the same way that we limit attacks on an individual. Normally, this would be unnecessary, because energy and stamina are supposed to be limiting factors. But energy and stamina are quite easy to refill with items.

So, just to throw out a potential combat implementation, what would be a good number of attacks per 10 mins? 10 attacks? Would many players' gameplay get utterly fucked if we were to force you to never attack/mug more than 10 players in 10 minutes?

Im afraid limiting attacks/muggings per 10 minute would mess many things up, even though it would limit mirac muggers. Gang wars would be alot slower if youre facing more than a few enemies.. not to mention we all have our enemies on the side aswell

Whats the current % chance of getting beat down when trying to mug someone faster than you?
