When a item on your watchlist comes in your events saying someone's posted it you should also get a further event saying if that person has reduced the price of the item

Interesting point.

Along with this though, I think the Watchlist needs to be revised. I can see a LOT of users simply add every single item onto their watchlist. I assume so they can snipe items, or so they can see when new items are introduced. This is not the intended use of the watchlist.

I know that one defense to sniping is to list an item high, then reduce the price when the buyer is ready. This way it flies under the radar of other players.

So if this change gets implemented, we would likely also add a maxumim number of items to your watchlist.

Care to elaborate on how this is stupid?

Yes, sniping is a risk of the game. But the game shouldn't give you tools to facilitate sniping. That is what's truly stupid here.

you say that selling amens for items and for other transactions was not an intended use of the market so in fact sniping is a way to 'manage' the flow of amens flowing through the unintended use of the market

i'm probably not making sense but in my head i know what i mean

Again, that doesn't mean that we should facilitate sniping.

I'm in support of this idea, but only because it makes the Watchlist more valuable. The catch is, it makes it more valuable only if you're using it the way it was intended to be used. An example of intended use would be:

- Inmate needs a Stamina-boosting amenity on the cheap

- Inmate adds 4-5 of the best Stamina-boosting amenities to their Watchlist

- Inmate is notified when somebody is selling that item

Any functionality outside of that, we don't really care to protect.

I wanted to make this same suggestion along time ago. I dont care about the sniping or selling part of it. But being notified when an amen has been lowered would be a great addition to the watchlist! Then we dont have to keep checking the market all day to check if somethings been lowered also the seller can sell faster if someone sees the amen lowered to their price range since it will sell faster.

u list one for 79 favs event saying ur amen has been underbid blah blah

or say i then lower my ps3 to 78 favs he gets an event

dont have to say names

would help for a more competitive market
