Bite Back
Death_H...Hello all,
This is a thread to anyone who is interested in animals and the environment or where your food comes from and other such things.
Shark finning (and other practices suxh as whaling) are hugely damaging marine populations and ecosystems. And unfortunately a lot of big companies (such as supermarkets) are no less than encouraging it.
if you are interested have a look at Bite Back's website and have a read of some interesting facts, learn about sharks and the marine environment and see what Bite Back does to help.
I appriciate this wont be of interest to 95% of you but tough
By 2017, 20 species of shark could be commercially extinct
100 million sharks are slaughtered each year

go suck a shark dick you animal faggot!
barry is nothing but a troll :P and i support u dhl! i totally agree.. i wish humans were not so ignorant and selfish all the time.. i personally think humans are the dumbest species out there :P so i fully support this thread!
COREY1T...lol idk bout the dumbest species out there but i get where u goin with that

animals do what animals are supposed to do. humans do everything in their power to destroy what comes into contact with them.
sad sad an example as humans being stupid... creating nuclear bimbs.... like really lol? how dumb can u get>?
nuke bombs * and yes i am stoned so dont ask! lol
Actually there is another animal/organism which behaves in pretty much the same way, a virus.
A virus will reproduce in it's host to the point of killing it, essentially killing itself. So therefore humans are Gaia's virus.
While I agree something should be done (member of Greenpeace and Cal Wildlife Conservation), there is a much bigger problem that we face. Imo the big picture we should be concentrating on is global warming.
What good is it to protect a species if we're destroying the whole earth?
Death_H...Agreed. Global warming is a big issue but hard to fight on a small scale individual level. I do my part though... my research is improving the efficiency and reducing the emissions of petrol engined cars.
Though that doesn't stop support of smaller ecosystems. As a diver I have a soft spot for sharks (LOVE diving with them) and marine life. I am a member of Bite Back and also an RSPB member.

they passed a law(in certain states in the US) that should help slow down the decreasing population of sharks but the black market will always be there like anything else thats made illegal, but im sure theres not gonna be the same thing done in other countries and they will consume the same amount
