hang in there, it was quiet the last two days here in VA but just this evening the wind really picked up to where our lights started to flicker. i feel for the folks along the coast in NY/NJ, crazy watching this on TV I couldn't imagine being there

Probably because it's tall as fuck, meaning more people can see it than any other building, so they can see that the city isn't entirely dark. People don't like the dark, so it's probably meant as psychological reassurance.
