Why does it have a limit on hotspot? If you're using an android you can root your phone and download an app off the Google Play Store for free unlimited hotspot. That will stop you worrying about going of your limit.

Stop streaming, playing flash and things like that. Don't keep any unnecessary programs open because they may use internet, and don't download unless absolute needed.

In chrome you can disable flash by doing this;

Putting "chrome://plugins/" in the address bar without quotations.

And pressing disable on data consuming add ons.

Noobsauce. You don't just google "root my phone", yes that is legit. But that site gives you a pretty percentage of bricking your phone. Tell me your phone model and I can point you in right direction, but careful, rooting voids your warranty.

i just followed those steps... says root completed... how do i know i didnt fail? i barely know what rooting is i just know i need it for a bunch of things

Download an app on your phone called "Root checker", if it pops up saying "This app is asking for permissions" press accept and just by that you know you are rooted. Your lucky though, most people using that without checking thoroughly brick their phone.

Depends, some phones do and some don't. Just avoid updates, if you want to change your rom. Use a custom one, just be careful and follow the steps carefully if you do.

At first it said "Proper root access not blablabla" but my dumb ass forgot to restart like it said, so i did, ran the "Root checker" pressed "verify root access" and a window showed up:
