Defense != Armor

When you have high defense people MISS you, they don't hit you and break their hand.

Ok. Real life situation...ur 6'9" 300 lbs and I'm just 5'5" and about 160. I come behind you outta nowhere and beat u up side the head with a metal pipe? You gonna shake that shit off and be up on ur feet ready to fight before I check ur pockets? Probably not. Long story short this is a bad idea. Don't wanna get mugged train ur speed up a little. Same process used to train def in case you didn't kno.

like i stated earlier ....a knock out is caused by the punch you dont see not the strongest punch...so strenght doesnt factor much in a blindside attack...if someone is that fast can sneak attack... the impact of there hit is much more than the power they possess...everyone wants to come at the speed fighters ...we so fast but we dont connect we have our weakness yal have yours point blank

i don't think the real life arguments hold much water here, for starters, we're talking about a game, and all the original poster was asking for was a little consideration for defense trainers when getting mugged. if you're talking about two boxers, they're relatively close in strength and defensive ability. so yeah, a quick punch from the weaker one could catch you off guard.

but if your strength is weak, and my defense is strong, think of it as a child punching a full grown adult. little bastard might be able to run away with my cash real quick, but he sure as hell isn't gonna knock me out.

In theory, the speed trainer should be able to beat you down because he was so fast, you couldn't defend yourself in time, your reflexes are slower. Also, mugs and beatdowns give you less inf time than a straight up fight, which is fair.

really so someone one with like 100million less strength than your defense should still be able to beat you down cause they are so fast?

Yes, because the person who is 100m speed slower can't get their hands up in time to block the punch. it's your ability to block or defend yourself from hits.

but what if you are only slightly slower... i mean you knwo what my speed is... and my defense... should i still be able to be beaten down... just wondering... like if your speed is 1k slower... should that mean you can still be beat down? all hypothetical of course...

plus this isn't real life

it balances the game

This exactly. I mean if people want to relate this to real life then by all rights ALOT needs to change. This is about game balance, not what fighter (A) would do against fighter (B) in real life. Just mo though.
