but drive a car or bring a gun to a crowded place there can be major damage, so ban both cars and guns

the people are the problem. here is a story where three young girls attacked and beat up a mom who was dropping her kid off at the bus. random act of violence. bad people are going to do bad things, regardless of how many laws you put in place.

I don't have a stance on this matter of whether assault weapons should be made illegal in this country. I will render my opinion on this new but minor debate that's ongoing. Why are cars even being considered in this topic is bewildering to me on the notion that cars can't drive into a school and mow down people or into a theater for that matter. When a person has a urge of stupidity to go out and commit a deadly crime, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the use of a gun. Whether their intent was to use that weapon indoors or out-doors it's still usually a gun that they conclude to be the best choice to perform that devious act. People don't think of taking a car to go out into society to kill a few people but more compelled to pick up a gun instead. Try another alternative rather than cars to try and develop a tenable argument or comparison to the deadly use of guns.

They use it because thats what they were taught to say as a response.
