Why not? it's my right as an American, protected under 2A.

So lets say we ban semi-auto's, and then there is another massacre, and a bolt action 308 is used. Do we then ban those too? Where does the madness stop? Guns are NOT the problem. People are the problem. A gun doesn't kill someone, a knife doesn't, a car doesn't, a bomb doesn't, it takes a human being to do it, and until we address that, bad things will continue to happen, if we take away guns they'll just use something else.

The sheeple out there need to stop making decisions based on emotion. Any talk about banning guns right now is emotion driven. No logic & reason involved. it's a knee jerk reaction to a horrible tragedy. 11000 people are killed by guns each year, and less than 3.5% of those deaths are caused by long guns (rifles) - an "Assault" weapon ban will do nothing for that rate. Everybody wants to look past the real issues and go after guns. [/quote]

no he is saying guns are not the problem, people are, ban all guns and people still find ways to kill others, banning guns will not fix the real problem

The question in the country is on assault weapons not all guns. Thats the misconception. No one has said ban all guns. There is no need to Have Assault Weapons in the hands of your next door neighbor. Because 9 times out of 10 IT WILL BE USED IN A CRIME BEFORE ITS USED TO PROTECT THEIR HOME. Most people break in to homes when no one is there so guess what gets stolen? THE GOOD OLD BUSHMASTER![/quote]

assault weapons amount to about 1-2% (maybe less depends on where you look) of all gun related crime, in a few years when people are still killing each other with regular guns because assault weapons were really not the problem, where do you think they will go? this is just a stepping stone

the problem is not assault weapons, it is our society, and people in it, guns are glorified, and many people have mental health problems

And feeling the need to have an assault rifle is a mental health problem. People that say "if someone tries to take away my guns Im going to kill people" are the ones armed with assault rifle. They arent for hunting or protection. They are for killing Period!!
