I just read all this and I forgot to mention, Thunderf00t created the Mohammad day in retaliation to the death threats Islam extremists sent to the creators of southpark for that recent cartoon where they mention Mohammad is in a giant bear custom. They also made southpark bend over to never air this episode again. That's what sparked all that Facebook and Youtube attack against Mohammad and their religion.

So that "Draw a Mohammad day" isn't totally free and careless. Unless you think the creators of southpark were totally free and careless and that these death threats were legit self justice against their ignoble humor.

Let's also not forget that these same extremist (with similar ideological views) killed, in 2004, a filmmaker, Theo van Gogh, in Amsterdam over a small 10 minute film depicting violence against woman in some Islamic societies.

So these death threats aren't to be taken lightly, which is the reason why this day was created; freedom.

... And btw, there is a HUGE difference between attacking people in a game to establish an ethical correct atmosphere and to kill someone in real life over some religious belief.

Whiskey, firstly no ones talking about "killing" anyone, but these people are deliberately insulting 1/6 of the worlds entire population, in fact, the group that was claimed to have made death threats actually DIDN'T make death threats, but just because they mentioned what happened to Theo van Gogh the media picked it up as if they were insinuating they were going to kill them! (And for the record his film was not "shedding light" on some domestic violence in Islamic societies at all it was completely inflammatory to any Muslim that watches attacking the Qu'ran and claiming Islam to be misogynistic as well as depicted several very offensive things).

99 per cent of what's said against these inflammatory acts are peaceful condemnation. Also thunderf00t didn't create that AFAIK; it was a cartoonist (who actually apologized for what happned recently) where she satirically said there should be a "Draw Muhammad Day".

It just pisses me off how people expect there to be NO retaliation when you insult someones core beliefs.
