Good Christ. I take my buddy into the ER for his back pain. There is litterally 3 people in before us one of which is with another person so in all actuallity 2 people to be seen before my bro. After 2 1/2 hours he finally gets in. The nurses are nice and help him move to the bed and listen to him about what is wrong. They tell him, he will be going in for an Xray blah blah blah.

So we wait and wait and wait. Another fuckin hour+ goes by and the doctor finally comes in. This asshat not only has the worsed customer service skills, but completely ignores what my bro is telling him. The doctor doesn't even send him off to Xray and just says "it's a pulled muscle" and leaves. Another fuckin hour goes by and the nurse comes back in with his prescriptions. She leaves again to get his discharge paperwork, which takes 20 fucking minutes.....

Seriously, WTF. One of the guys that was to be seen before my bro had gotten a severe beat down and was bleeding pretty good from his head. Good enough to cover his face a good portion. He ended up leaving to go to another hospital 25 minutes away.

Out of the last 4 hospitals I have seen or been to this is the status quo for them. Have we just let them get away with shit for too long and now it's just common place that they treat us like shit, don't listen to WTF hurts and god forbid you question their diagnosis, you'll be kicked out.

I would have rather had this happen than to go to a hospital ever again.

I had to stop in a hospital in Bakerfield, CA while moving for my wife having a bad allergic reaction... After 2 hrs with no sign of progress I left was quicker to get her a bottle of benedryl to down than a hospital wait

Originally posted by Philthy_McNasty Must be a county hospital in the colonies. Here in Canada there is a bit of a wait in the ER on the weekends mostly, but not bad - and there is no cash out of pocket - no copay - no insurance bs. Just walk in, show them your health card and get taken care of...

Most US hospitals are underfunded, understaffed and are losing tons of money due to non-payment and skyrocketing insurance costs - Sam Kennison had a saying in one of his rants: "Move to where the fuckin food is." Same applies - change your system (doubtful) or move to where the insurance is...

Their wouldn't be world hunger if you guys would live "WHERE THE FOOD IS!" YOU LIVE IN A DESERT, YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT! NOTHING GROWS OUT HERE! NOTHING'S GONNA GROW OUT HERE!

LQQK its sand; you know whats its gonna be a 100 years from now huh? ITS GONNA BE SAND! YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT!

Oh I know that skit all too well and I love Sammy. Sad to see him go the way he did. Way too early. But on topic, it's not an insurance thing to be honest. Oh bro, oh man, lol when my wife and I had our daughter I was supposed to have "one of the best funded" insurances out there. With that said, it was rather funny that all of the "pre-approved" shit for the birth was denied as well as 90% of the regular shit that comes with a birth.

All in all we are in debt over 60k from my daughters birth and furthermore are in a class action lawsuit against the insurance company. If/when we do win, it won't be enough to pay those fuckin bills. lol Personally our government needs to start acting like one and nut the hell up. Stop taking kick backs from big business and start running the country for the good of the country.

Ah, but that's another issue. Bottom line, we're fucked in this country if we expect a doctor to talk to us, be billed properly, be covered properly, etc etc etc etc. Probably always will be too. I just don't see the government getting off the medical industry tit any time soon.

Here's another horror story. Went in for knee surgery a few years ago. Pre-Op my doctor put a huge cross in blue on my knee so the hospital would know where we were operating. I go to the hospital, check in, go in back and get in my fancy little robe that looked like a loincloth on me. The nurse comes up and says "oh you're coming in for arthroscopic surgery and having some cysts removed right? Well which hand is it?" Ya, my first reply was "W T F " then the asshole in me showed itself and I slowly pointed out the blue cross on my knee and said they may want to start there......

Ah no biggy though. They had me in surgery for 45 minutes and then I was done. Bad thing was, they lost me for another 45.....According to my wife the nurses could not find me at all for about 45 minutes. Yup, good times.

Philthy, like i said, it's not a matter of insurance, it's a matter of the hospital staff. Some cases insurance does screw you, but all in all it's a business like any other. So if they are paying on their end and you are paying on yours shouldn't the "doctors" being doing what they are paid for?
