Outside of this case, theres just more and more of it goes on nowadays and it really bugs me. I wonder would there be so much media coverage and attention paid, if the ref had of called the player a faggot? Maybe it would... opinions? I don't get the sports stuff... but we all... with our use of language... maintain the status quo or contribute to change... language is a powerful tool... and say so much about a persons beliefs, contextual background and current social roles... i think that so often... we forget that... each one of use makes up the world we live in... are we all islands and our language and behaviour have no effect on the general standing of how the world is... or do we form a unit... a community where... depending on where we stand or what we say we shape the world around us... therefore impacting on the lives of others that we may not even know... anyway... sorry... for ranting... just had to deal with some of this shit this week... imma leave you to it...
