I agree with threadstarter here. The weapons dont do a whole lot yet. If you're a level 1 and can afford 45k to buy a Rusty pipe it still won't be that much of stat increase at all.  When you start out in the game and see a weapon that has +100 STRENGTH and +100 DEF, you think WOW but not so WOW to the guys that get 200+ STRENGTH in one training session (alot more in some cases).

What I have seen of this game when I first started is that ALL the fun stuff eg) mugging, fighting, cell raiding is shunned upon by the L33t/experienced/Start a new account players and the advice given by these guys is STAY IN THE GYM and train hard.  So in a nutshell I've been told to forget about New Jersey and Putnam and train in gym all your PrisonBlock time until you get thrown in  Arizona (Louisiana coming soon) and get the feck kicked into ya by guys that have done nothing but overdose on energy drinks and such. The game needs a bit of balance. The right ideas are in place but levelling up too soon gravely punishes you.

In a few months time there'll be some lvl 30's (funding the game) hoping that the new lvl 1 guy thats just joined will stick at it for a 3 or 4 months.

All that said, this could be a damn good game, I was intrigued the first few days, especially when I got free 2 days Respected which actually convinced me to buy a 30 day membership a few days later. And that's impressive for me cos I fecking HATED Mafia Wars. Little more time in balancing and this game is good to go

ONTOPIC - no reason to level cap weapons at moment as they prove no over substantial benefit yet.

I hear ya Ruff, and trust me, we've considered it all. You'll notice weapons haven't changed much since the game first started. They're all outdated in terms of usefulness as cell amenities grant greater benefits. Weapons and armor will get a complete overhaul in the near-ish future.

For low level players though, the system we have in place now gives them something to strive for, and during that, they learn the game better.

I have to say that for new players, I talk to them about training and cell setups. They dont EVER ask about weapons. Lower level weapons give you a chance to learn some of the dynamics of the game..IF you take the time to read the descriptions and not just buy a weapon cause its for your level.

Sometimes +50 is better for new players than a 10% weapon. I learned that the hard way with toilets.

Over all this game is very balanced, people get discouraged because they see higher levels. I saw it as a challenge and am trying to reach them. But NJ and Putnam can be fun IF you take the time to learn the game and not try and change it from your first week here.

And I'd be happy to help some of those lower level guys if they ever did anything but ask for money, but damn it's discouraging when I get people stuck in Putnam or AZ that still want a handout.

The game is very fair to beginners, and gives every chance to get a good start if you're willing to invest the time, but they need to start looking at the resources available before bitching about the way things are.  Everyone wants to be king shit from the start

Still sucks for me that I can't buy all 3 consoles and stand with the guys that have been here 7 months, but I know my place, and I'm not doing bad because I used my head

Ive only been here for 4 months or so and I have all three consoles. I had to work to pay off the first one i got. as well as the 2nd. the 3rd i got from a firesale (thx Bluesky).

You can get everything you need in this game if you talk to people, intelligently  participate in forums, politely ask people if its available and remember that respect goes a long way.

Sometimes it takes me an hour (many times lots, lots less) to realise I'm not investing anymore time (let alone money) into playing a game. A whole "first week" is a long time, especially in a business plan (I'm assuming there).

There's some excellent ideas in this game that are FUN (this is mandatory) and will help engage the newer level players (myself one {I levelled too quick}). BUT while having this fun it's a killer when you get a higher level expericenced player telling you to start a new account because your stats are not up to par for when you reach the stat padders (that already have realised their own early mistakes).

Good to hear that Mufasa is on the ball tho
