75% of americas shrimp comes from the gulf what do you think will happen when there is none to catch...big or small company they will have nothing to sell
not to mention global ocean currents its not just going to stay in the gulf....

since there are going to be hurricanes.. do you think it could rain oil? :o
AFAIK bp is paying tens of thousands of claims from fisherman, and other workers of hit industries. I don't think financial loss (besides to the states from tourism) will be the biggets impact, rather, the environmental impact may be devastating. Much worse than the Exxon Valdez, because the gulf is heavily populated, from tourism, to business, to local inhabitants. The coast may not be the same for many years to come.
But I've heard some people say hurricanes could help the coast line, if there's a big hurricane the erosion would clean up the coast line, that seems pretty likely actually.
if there's a hurricane it'll spread the oil out far enough that the environment will be able to handle it it's only a problem because it's concentrated, something like twice the amount of oil goes into the oceans world wide everyday through run off and pipe leaks, and other small yet numerous factors.
