the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard
mybad

The bible's not even a book. It's a collection of books ranging from BC to AD from the OT / Torah to the NT, with all it's different versions and languages, so I wont claim to have read all 60 some odd books of it but I doubt anyone here has, but I have read a lot of it, and know what it's all about.
you should read it all carefully
To read it all carefully I would need about a decade to read, re-read, study, but it is not practical regardless, as I mentioned before it is not the original Torah, or NT of the past, it has been translated over many languages that are now archaic, re-written and revised and compiled into new versions, and as I've said many parts have simply been scrapped all together by the early Churches. Which is why I don't bother to read it ALL super carefully. When you see a structure has major flaws from the get go, you do not need to inspect it all to deem it unsound now do you?
The king james version is the most accurate english translation. I would recomend that you read that version as we cannont read the old Greek ect the the origionals were written in.
Wouldn't you find that troubling, I think it's well agreed the peoples of Jesus' time would have spoken Aramaic, the ancient Semitic language which no longer exists. The first translations would have been in Ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Greek (from the Pauline Epistles), later in Latin, and from there on our modern languages. There are clear problems with this because over a span of thousands of years, and multiple languages many of them complex an/or archaic, it would become evident that the Bible in it's original state does not exist, therefore, how can it be valid?
Some of the origional Greek documents are preserved to this day. In the king james version when the translators found something hard to translate into english they wrote down all many meanings the statement could have in english, there is many points in the king james version were you would come to a statment which has an appendage or astrix which directs you to the margin of the page were all the other possible translations are, which is about the best you can do.
When it comes to divinity, 'The best you can do' isn't enough in my opinion. I would rather know what Jesus said not what the Europeans said he said. Not to mention all the books of the NT were written 50-100AD by people who didn't know Jesus, and didn't live in Jerusalem.
I'm not trying to be offensive by the way or anything this is just what I think about the bible, I do believe it - and all Abrahamic faiths - have divine inspiration, until man sticks his nose into it. So I do believe in God.
Im glad to have someone who can hold a proper debate like you in this thread Jaymeal, allways refreshing, Sometimes u just gotta work with what youve got though and live within your means
