i live in new york with some strict gun laws...its not hard to get a gun illegally if you want one if u ask the right people or take a little trip to pennsylvania

i dont think it would change much, i think the lack of guns gives the people who have them a bigger advantage...criminals can get them and do some bad things...maybe the average do good citizen could protect their life and their assets against them if they had a gun also

would u rob someone who u know has a gun? would u shot someone who u know would shot back? it can be argued for better or for worse but id rather have my personal destiny in my hands than waiting for someone who has a gun to make the decision

completely understood Howie. I guess this is just me thinking like a mom here

guns don't kill ppl...ppl pulling triggers does.

this is an age old argument and many studies show that higher gun ownership areas have lower crime rates. i'm licensed to carry a concealed firearm in my state (and all states with reciprocity - about 40) and to do so i had to:

1) pass a back ground check

2) take an 8 hr course on firearm & usage laws

3) pass a shooting test to show proficiency with a handgun from varying positions, draws, and distances

i'm all for this freedom to those with no criminal history to protect their person, property, & family from those who want to take it from them vs earning it themselves.

way to solve gun issues isn't to ban them all. as howie said, criminals will always find a way to have them. (see: japan - yakuza has 100x the amount of weapons the POLICE have b/c of the countries strict gun ownership laws)

u cant even shoot someone that breaks in ur house in ny unless they are coming towards u, and if u shoot him outside ur done let alone follow someone , get ur ass kicked then shoot him, it wouldnt even been any of this race nonsense, its once ur wrong u cant be right

ny laws are fucked when it comes to home invasion u shoot them they live they can sue u for everything u got i got in trouble for hittin a dude with a bat in they told me if i didnt step out the door with it i would been fine if it was sittin outside n i grabbed it during heat of the moment my lawyer said i woulda been fine

b) carry 'em inside if they fall outside the house.

my uncle is a cop and that is what he told me to so... if u shoot outside ur house make sure they r in it when the cops show up
